Emma Johnson MBE gained immediate fame when winning the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1984. She is one of the few clarinettists to have established a busy career as a solo performer, which has taken her to major European, American and Asian venues as well as to Africa and Australasia.
Her recording of sonatas by Brahms and Mendelssohn with John Lenehan was described as “definitive…triumphant…a landmark disc” (The Observer).
In a career of unusual diversity, John Lenehan has performed in concerts worldwide. Praised by the New York Times for his ‘great flair and virtuosity’ and the (London) Times – ‘a masterly recital’, he has also collaborated with some of the leading instrumentalists of our time.
PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for individual concerts must be purchased from Lighthouse Poole, either on-line or via the Lighthouse Box Office.
