About Us
Promoting professional chamber music concerts by musicians of National and International repute
BCMS came into existence in 1944, to provide local people with solace from the war in general, and bombing in particular. Our mantra of providing half-a-dozen reasonably-priced chamber music concerts per year of the highest possible quality has been maintained ever since.
Alongside concerts by renowned musicians, we support young classical musicians: for example, every season includes at least one concert by exceptionally talented young professionals.
We also offer free admission to all 8 to 25-year-olds for all concerts.
What do we provide?
With concerts throughout much of the year, we provide something for everyone, from leading quartets to up-and-coming musicians.

The BCMS promote an impressive collection of National and International musicians who have performed across the globe.

Become a Patron
Are you able to make an additional donation, large or small, to enable us further to enhance the quality of our concerts? Then the BCMS Patrons Fund is for you.
For example, our being able to engage “premier league” musicians for our concert on 27 April 2025 was made possible by the fund.
A Patrons donation is annual, typically paid along with a pre-season ticket booking, or via this website, and is eligible for Gift-Aid.
